Construction of a heat transfer station
On behalf of our customer Volkswagen, a heat forming station was built in Hall 1c at the Emden plant.
As part of the modernization and refurbishment of the ventilation and air conditioning systems, inefficient old units were replaced with two new, energy-efficient ventilation and air conditioning systems. These new systems are not supplied with the full temperature of the central plant heating system. In order to ensure the required temperature balance, we were commissioned to install a heat conversion station. This reduces the temperature from 110 °C to 50 °C with the help of two heat exchangers.
In addition, a pressure maintenance system was installed to prevent possible overpressure or underpressure in the system through the use of pressure expansion vessels.
To control the new air handling units, control groups were integrated in front of the units, which are directly connected to the heat transfer station.
As part of a supplement, a stainless steel drip tray including the associated drainage piping was installed. This measure was carried out at the request of the operator to ensure that the system remains accessible from all sides in the event of maintenance and that potentially leaking liquids cannot enter the logistics center below.
The work carried out ensures efficient and safe functionality of the system within the building technology.
