New construction of a combined heat and power plant
New pipes had to be integrated into the old existing system, which was carried out by Antrok Anlagentechnik. An impressive total length was laid for this:
- 850 meters of DN 1000 cooling water pipe
- 790 meters of DN 800 district heating pipeline
- 290 meters of DN 250 district heating pipe
- 620 meters of DN 25 heating pipe
The cooling water pipe was laid for one of two gas turbines from the pump house via the power station to the cooling tower. The biggest challenges here were a pipe bridge directly under the 110 KV line and the pipe bridge section above the new gas house. Here, 100 m of pipe bridge had to be lifted into place in 3 sections, fully equipped with pipes. Our pipes alone had a weight of approx. 25 tons per section in the lower of 2 floors. The pipes on the upper floor were subsequently inserted from above. In the case of the DN 800 and DN 250 district heating pipes, the challenges were the timing of the DN 250, as the pipe supplies an entire district and could only be taken out of service for a short time, and the connection of our DN 800 to the DN 700 underground district heating pipe with DN 900 vacuum pipe, for which a downtime of 10 working days was planned. A problem arose with the existing underground pipe at the DN 700 connection, so we had to reschedule at short notice and find a solution. We had 2 special expansion joints manufactured and delivered by one of our reliable partners within 5 working days in order to keep the downtime of the district heating pipeline as short as possible for the customer. The planned downtime of 10 working days for the media-carrying pipe was therefore only exceeded by 2 working days. The customer, supplier and ANTROK worked hand in hand to avert major damage. The pipes for the new power plant were completed at the beginning of 2022.
